Hospitality brand Mama Shelter, part of the Ennismore collective, is expanding into Southeast Asia with its first-ever location in the region, set to open in Bangkok, Thailand in 2029. The announcement follows a newly signed partnership between Ennismore and Thai real estate developer Platinum Group.
The hotel, to be named Mama Shelter Bangkok Platinum, will become a major highlight of The Platinum Square, a new 48-story mixed-use complex in Bangkok’s vibrant Pratunam district. Located near the Platinum Fashion Mall — one of the largest retail hubs in Southeast Asia — and just minutes from the Siam and Chidlom BTS stations, the property will offer easy access to both shopping and city exploration.
Occupying 47 floors, the new Mama Shelter will feature 578 guest rooms infused with the brand’s signature bold and playful aesthetic — think cartoon-style lighting fixtures and graffiti-covered ceilings. Rooms will also include luxury linens and eco-friendly toiletries, staying true to the brand’s stylish yet conscious ethos.
The hotel will boast an impressive lineup of amenities:
A restaurant and sports bar
A game room and poolside bar
A lounge zone with live music and weekly DJ events known as Mama Nights
For business and event travelers, Mama Shelter Bangkok Platinum will also include over 300 square meters of conference space and an additional 210 square meters of private event areas, making it a strong contender in Bangkok’s growing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector.
This announcement comes shortly after Ennismore revealed plans for Mama Shelter Singapore, which will break ground later this year — signaling a strong push into Asia for the Paris-born brand.
Launched in 2008 by Serge Trigano and his sons Jérémie and Benjamin, Mama Shelter blends comfort with creativity and a sense of fun. The name itself reflects the founders’ mission: to offer travelers a nurturing, vibrant refuge — “like a mother’s care.”
Today, Mama Shelter operates in 14 major cities across 10 countries, from Los Angeles to Paris, and Bangkok is shaping up to be its most exciting launch yet in the Asian market.
