Fast Track for Steps: Vilnius Airport Launches Unique Walk15 Pilot Program

Vilnius Airport, in collaboration with international wellness startup Walk15, has launched a one-of-a-kind pilot project allowing travelers to pass through Fast Track security by paying with steps. To access the service, users need to accumulate 100,000 steps in the Walk15 app.

The initiative is part of the broader “Vilnius – European Green Capital 2025” program, which promotes innovative and sustainable urban solutions. The offer is available to all Walk15 Plus subscribers, who can exchange 100,000 steps for one Fast Track access per week — a service that typically costs €7.

“Being named the European Green Capital is a challenge that demands practical solutions. Turning steps into real-life rewards is a great example of how innovation can bring tangible benefits,” said Jurga Počiūtė-Mikutienė, the project lead from the Vilnius City Municipality.

Fast Track for steps isn’t just a perk for travelers — it’s also a creative way to encourage physical activity and environmentally conscious living. The idea has already generated interest among Walk15 users and is receiving positive feedback.

Both Walk15 and Vilnius Airport hope that this success will inspire other cities and transportation hubs to adopt similar initiatives. They are also exploring options to expand the program and introduce more step-based rewards.

Transforming steps into value could mark the beginning of a new era — one where every move counts, not just for health, but for a smarter, greener way of living and traveling.
