Where to stay in Northern Ireland in 2025 is a question travellers will be asking as a wave of new hotel openings brings fresh options across Belfast, Portrush, and Derry. From restored Victorian landmarks to bold new builds, Northern Ireland’s hospitality scene is set for a major refresh—just in time for global events and a growing number of international visitors.
Opening just ahead of the 153rd Open Championship in July 2025, The Marcus Portrush is Hilton’s newest Tapestry Collection hotel and the brand’s debut in Northern Ireland. The 80-room hotel occupies a restored Victorian building along the North Atlantic coast and preserves original mosaic features dating back to its previous life as a bakery and hotel in the late 19th century. Its design blends coastal elegance with heritage, featuring a bar, restaurant, café, and sea-facing rooms.
Also in Portrush, the Adelphi Hotel reopened on April 21 under the Marine & Lawn Hotels collection. With 34 newly renovated rooms, the property promises a boutique coastal experience enhanced by Italian dining, a spa, and interior designs inspired by local golf culture and seascapes. It’s ideal for travellers heading to the Open or exploring the Causeway Coast.
Further west in Derry, Hilton will unveil the DoubleTree by Hilton Derry–Londonderry, a 158-room hotel housed in the refurbished former City Hotel. Expected to open in 2025, the new property includes a ballroom, restaurant, and bar—targeting both business and leisure guests drawn to the historic walled city and surrounding attractions.
Belfast will also see several hotel openings in 2025, beginning with the DoubleTree by Hilton Belfast City, situated in the Linen Quarter near City Hall. With 131 rooms, four meeting rooms, and a rooftop bar, the hotel is designed to serve both corporate travellers and city-break tourists.
Moxy Belfast City, part of Marriott’s playful, youth-oriented brand, will bring 179 rooms to the city centre in summer 2025. The hotel will occupy a repurposed building and offer the signature casual style and communal spaces that Moxy is known for worldwide.

For those seeking upscale comfort, the AC Hotel Belfast by Marriott opened in April 2025 at City Quays in Belfast Harbour. The 188-room property features a gym, library, and meeting rooms, plus a Mediterranean brasserie by renowned chef Jean-Christophe Novelli.
These openings reflect Northern Ireland’s rising profile as a destination for both tourism and business, with new hospitality investments catering to evolving guest expectations. Whether it’s for a major golf tournament, coastal retreat, or urban weekend escape, travellers in 2025 will find no shortage of stylish and modern places to stay across the region.
