TSA Lifts Mask Mandate in Airport

The Transportation Security Administration has withdrawn the Security Directive that required masks on public transportation and in transportation hubs, including CLT. Masks are no longer required at CLT. Passengers are advised to check with their airlines regarding mask requirements.

The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) confirmed that face masks are now optional inside its airport facilities, following a judicial decision in the federal court system. Effective immediately, masks are no longer required, but the CDC continues to recommend that people wear masks in indoor public transportation settings. Both passengers and employees have the option to continue wearing a mask during travel and while working, and SFO asks all travelers and employees at SFO to respect each individual’s decision regarding mask usage.
