Choice Hotels Adds Poznan Hotel to Ascend Collection

Choice Hotels International has added Liberté 33 in Poznan to its Ascend Collection, marking the company’s arrival in one of Poland’s most active cultural and commercial centres. The move expands its presence in Europe, the Middle East and Africa as it targets more guests seeking independent hotels with local character.

The property joins the Ascend Collection under a franchise agreement and gives Choice Hotels a new foothold in the Polish market. The company said the hotel is part of its strategy to grow a portfolio of distinctive, upper-upscale properties across major destinations.

Choice Hotels said the addition strengthens its relationship with hotel owners in EMEA and broadens its offering for travellers in the region.

Choice Hotels International, Inc. said the hotel’s location in Poznan aligns with its aim of placing Ascend Collection properties in cities with strong business demand and leisure appeal. Poznan, in western Poland, is known for its trade fairs, universities, historic centre and growing tourism sector.

The Ascend Collection brings together independent hotels that keep their own identity while joining the Choice Hotels distribution and loyalty network. For the company, the brand has become a key tool for expansion in markets where travellers want locally rooted accommodation rather than standardised chain hotels.

Choice Hotels has been increasing its international footprint in recent years through franchise partnerships and brand growth. Its EMEA business covers a wide range of hotel types, from economy to upscale, across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The company said the Poznan signing reflects continued demand from owners looking to work with global distribution systems while retaining an individual hotel style. It also adds another destination to Choice Hotels’ growing European map, where it competes for business and leisure travellers across major cities and regional hubs.

Liberté 33 becomes one of the latest additions to the Ascend Collection as the brand continues to position itself around locally inspired properties in central locations. Choice Hotels has used that approach to build recognition in markets where independent hotels remain important to the travel offer.

The announcement comes as hotel groups across Europe seek to widen their portfolios through asset-light franchise deals. For Choice Hotels, the move signals further confidence in EMEA as a growth region and in Poland as a market with room for more international brands.
