2026 Emmy Nominations Revealed with The Pitt on Top

The Television Academy has announced the nominees for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, with HBO Max’s The Pitt leading the field with 25 nominations and Hacks setting a new record for a comedy series with 24 nominations in a single season.

The winners will be announced on 14 September at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The ceremony will air on NBC and Peacock and will be hosted by Mariska Hargitay, marking the first time the Law & Order: SVU star has hosted the Emmy Awards.

The Pitt Tops the Field

The Pitt emerged as the most-nominated programme with 25 nominations, followed by the final season of Hacks with 24, the highest number ever achieved by a comedy series in a single year.

Apple TV+ also enjoyed a strong showing, with freshman series Widow’s Bay earning 19 nominations and Pluribus receiving 18. Netflix‘s Beef followed with 16 nominations.

Awards Ceremony in September

The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on Monday, 14 September, having moved from their traditional Sunday schedule because of NBC’s NFL coverage. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards will be presented on 5 and 6 September ahead of the main ceremony.
