Warsaw-Radom Airport has passed another milestone just weeks after opening, welcoming its 10,000th passenger as airport officials point to growing demand and an expanding network of destinations.
The symbolic passenger milestone was reached slightly more than five weeks after operations began, highlighting the pace at which traffic has developed at the airport.
The 10,000th traveler, identified as Mrs Patrycja from Radom, departed with her family on the first charter flight to Antalya operated by LOT Polish Airlines and received commemorative gifts including suitcases to mark the occasion.
Passenger Numbers Already Surpass Previous Annual Record
Airport officials say traffic growth has already exceeded expectations, with passenger numbers surpassing the airport’s previous annual record established in 2016.
During May alone, the airport handled 8,334 passengers, contributing significantly toward the rapid growth recorded since launch.
The figures suggest increasing demand among travelers looking for alternative departure points outside Poland’s largest airports.
New Holiday Destinations Continue Expanding Airport Network
The airport’s route network is continuing to expand as travelers gain access to additional leisure destinations across Europe and the Mediterranean.
Passengers can already travel to destinations including Antalya, Varna, Preveza and Tirana through a combination of charter and scheduled services.
Charter flights to Antalya and Tirana have already started operating, while additional scheduled flights to destinations including Rome, Paris, Preveza, Varna and Tirana are expected to strengthen connectivity further.
LOT Polish Airlines is operating both charter and scheduled services from the airport as part of the expansion.
New Shuttle Services Aim To Improve Airport Access
Ground transport connections are also being expanded as officials attempt to improve accessibility for travelers outside Radom.
Beginning June 26, dedicated shuttle buses connecting Kielce and Skarzysko-Kamienna with Warsaw-Radom Airport will begin operating.
Officials say tickets for the service will cost a symbolic five zlotys, providing a low-cost connection designed to encourage additional passenger growth.
Airport representatives said they remain optimistic about future development as passenger numbers continue increasing and route networks expand.
