Riyadh Air Starts Ticket Sales For 1 July London Flights

Saudi Arabia’s new national carrier Riyadh Air has officially opened ticket sales for its first commercial flights between Riyadh and London, with operations scheduled to begin on 1 July as the airline accelerates its international launch plans.

The new route will connect Riyadh with London Heathrow, one of the world’s busiest international aviation hubs, marking a major milestone for the airline ahead of its broader global expansion strategy.

Riyadh Air Expands Saudi Arabia’s Aviation Ambitions

Riyadh Air was launched as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 programme, which aims to transform the kingdom into a major global tourism, aviation and business hub.

The airline plans to connect Saudi Arabia with more than 100 destinations by the end of the decade while supporting the country’s rapidly expanding tourism and hospitality sectors.

Saudi Arabia is investing heavily in tourism megaprojects, entertainment developments, luxury resorts and international events as part of wider efforts to diversify the national economy beyond oil.

London Heathrow Chosen As Key European Gateway

London is expected to become one of Riyadh Air’s flagship European destinations due to strong business travel demand, tourism growth and expanding economic ties between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.

The Heathrow launch will also provide Riyadh Air with access to one of the world’s most strategically important long-haul aviation markets.

Industry analysts say the route is likely to attract both premium corporate travellers and growing leisure traffic between the two countries.

Airline Focuses On Premium International Travel

Riyadh Air has positioned itself as a premium full-service carrier centred around international connectivity, digital-first services and modern onboard experiences.

The airline’s strategy includes significant aircraft orders from both Boeing and Airbus as Saudi Arabia expands its aviation infrastructure and airline capacity.

The carrier is expected to compete directly with established Gulf airlines including Emirates, Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways in the long-haul international market.

Saudi Arabia Continues Expanding Tourism Sector

The launch of Riyadh Air forms part of broader efforts to increase international visitor arrivals and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s role as a global transit and tourism destination.

The kingdom has introduced major investments across airports, tourism resorts, cultural attractions and large-scale entertainment projects designed to attract millions of additional visitors annually.

Global Aviation Industry Watches Riyadh Air Closely

Industry experts view Riyadh Air as one of the most significant airline launches in recent years due to the scale of Saudi Arabia’s investment ambitions and the strategic importance of the Gulf aviation market.

The airline is expected to play a major role in reshaping future air connectivity across the Middle East, Europe and Asia as operations continue expanding.
