SWISS Launches New Non-Stop Bengaluru To Zurich Flights From 2026

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has announced the launch of new non-stop flights between Bengaluru and Zurich, further expanding connectivity between India and Switzerland.

The new route will operate five times per week beginning in October 2026, linking southern India directly with SWISS’s global hub in Zurich and providing onward access to destinations across Europe and North America through the Lufthansa Group network.

Bengaluru Becomes New SWISS Destination In India

Bengaluru will become SWISS’s latest destination in India as the airline continues strengthening its presence in strategically important international growth markets.

The service is aimed at business travellers, technology sector professionals, premium leisure customers, and the growing Indian diaspora travelling between India, Europe, and North America.

The route also reinforces Bengaluru’s growing role as one of the world’s leading technology and innovation hubs.

Lufthansa Group Expands Southern India Connectivity

According to Kevin Markette, Lufthansa Group Senior Director – Regional Sales South Asia, the new route reflects the strategic importance of the Indian market for the wider Lufthansa Group.

He said Bengaluru will become the group’s third Lufthansa gateway in the city alongside existing Frankfurt and Munich services.

The new Zurich connection is expected to significantly improve connectivity options for travellers departing southern India.

Premium Travel Experience Across All Cabins

Passengers on the Bengaluru–Zurich route will have access to SWISS’s First Class, Business Class, and Economy Class products.

The airline said customers can expect premium lounges, Swiss-inspired onboard dining, and streamlined onward transfers through Zurich Airport.

The inclusion of First Class on every flight reflects strong demand from Bengaluru’s corporate and premium travel sectors.

Bengaluru Airport Highlights Growing International Demand

Girish Nair, Chief Operating Officer of Bangalore International Airport Limited, said the launch demonstrates the long-term market potential and maturity of Bengaluru’s international aviation sector.

He added that the new non-stop route would support both business and leisure demand while improving global access for travellers from India’s Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities through Bengaluru Airport’s domestic network covering 78 destinations.

Lufthansa Group Continues India Expansion

The launch forms part of the Lufthansa Group’s broader expansion strategy in India, where the airline group plans to operate more than 70 weekly flights during the Winter 2026 schedule.

Tickets for the new Bengaluru–Zurich route are now available through SWISS sales channels and travel agency partners.
