Cosmos Hotel Group and developer Sport Invest have announced plans to build a large-scale sports and wellness resort cluster in Crimea, the Ukrainian peninsula occupied and controlled by Russia since 2014.
The project, named Cosmos Sady Kimmerii Resort, will be developed in the city of Saki on the western coast of Crimea under the Cosmos hotel brand.
50 Billion Ruble Investment In Year-Round Tourism
Sport Invest plans to invest around 50 billion rubles into the project, with construction expected to be completed within five years. According to the developer, the resort is projected to create more than 2,000 jobs in the region.
The development will operate under a franchise model with Cosmos Hotel Group, allowing the future resort to integrate into the company’s sales systems, hospitality standards and loyalty programmes.
Cosmos Hotel Group said the project forms part of its broader strategy to expand franchise operations and strengthen its position in resort and sports-oriented hospitality infrastructure.
Large Resort Complex With Sports Facilities
Cosmos Sady Kimmerii Resort will occupy 35 hectares and include 57 four-star apartment residences containing a total of 3,570 apartments.
The complex is planned as a year-round destination with sports, wellness and event infrastructure. Facilities are expected to include football fields, ice arenas, swimming pools, a surfing centre and a congress hall capable of hosting 1,000 guests.
Developers say the infrastructure will support training activities and competitions across 36 sports.
Focus On Sports And Wellness Tourism
Cosmos Hotel Group president Alexander Biba said the project continues the company’s strategy of combining accommodation with sports, recovery and event facilities.
According to the company, demand is growing for hospitality projects that integrate wellness tourism, training infrastructure and large-scale events within a single resort destination.
Sport Invest chief executive Stanislav Lobachev described the development as a new tourism and lifestyle hub intended to attract visitors throughout the year rather than only during the summer season.
He said the partnership with Cosmos Hotel Group would strengthen the project through access to a federal hotel brand, centralised sales channels and established service standards.
Location Near Beaches And Natural Attractions
The future resort complex will be located near a lake and around five minutes from sandy beaches. Developers say the railway station can be reached within 15 minutes by car, while Evpatoria is approximately 30 minutes away.
Nearby attractions include the pink salt lake Sasyk-Sivash, one of Crimea’s most recognisable natural landmarks.
Part Of Wider Expansion Across Crimea
Cosmos Hotel Group previously announced a wider expansion programme across Crimea and Sevastopol involving 14 new hotel developments ranging from three-star to five-star properties.
The combined room inventory of the future hotels is expected to exceed 17,400 units, with the first Cosmos-branded properties planned to open between 2026 and 2027.
