Small Luxury Hotels Expands With 29 New Boutique Properties

Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) has announced the addition of 29 new member properties during the first three months of 2026, reflecting continued demand for boutique, experience-driven travel. The independently minded collection now exceeds 700 hotels across 100 countries, marking a significant milestone for the brand.

The latest additions span new openings, emerging destinations and immersive retreats, reinforcing SLH’s focus on individuality, design and meaningful guest experiences.

New Openings Across Europe And Beyond

Among the upcoming highlights is The Grace Hotel in County Mayo, Ireland, set to open this spring within the Westport Estate, offering views across 430 acres of natural landscape. In Italy, Casa Caprile in Anacapri will introduce a restored 19th-century residence with a bold and artistic design approach.

Venice will welcome Eight Venezia in July 2026, blending historic features such as frescoes and stained glass with contemporary interiors following a full refurbishment.

Elsewhere, Casa Simona in Panama’s El Valle de Antón will bring an intimate nature-led retreat to a unique volcanic setting, while Hotel MOHI in California will combine wine country influences with outdoor experiences.

New Destinations From Key West To Santorini

SLH continues to expand into new destinations, including Key West in Florida, where four historic properties have joined the portfolio. These include Ella’s Cottages, Ridley House, Lighthouse Hotel and Winslow’s Bungalows, each offering a distinct take on boutique island living.

In California, Maison Twenty Seven in Santa Monica and La Serena Villas in Palm Springs introduce heritage architecture and desert-inspired escapes, while Santorini Sky in Greece offers elevated villas with panoramic Aegean views.

Other additions include Telunas Private Island in Indonesia and La Casa del Presidente in Ávila, Spain, further diversifying the portfolio across both coastal and cultural destinations.

Experiential Travel And Wellness At The Core

The expansion reflects a broader shift towards immersive travel experiences that engage guests beyond traditional stays.

Properties such as Dharana at Shillim in India focus on holistic wellness programmes, while Zabola Estate in Romania blends heritage accommodation with spa experiences rooted in cultural traditions.

In Latin America, Puerto Valle Hotel de Esteros in Argentina emphasises sustainability and biodiversity, while Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel in Peru offers curated experiences connected to the region’s cultural heritage.

Growing Demand For Boutique And Lifestyle Stays

From beachfront retreats in Mexico to boutique cruise experiences along the Nile, the new additions highlight the increasing demand for unique, personalised travel.

The inclusion of properties such as Historia Boutique Hotel Nile Cruise further expands SLH’s offering beyond traditional hotels, catering to travellers seeking distinctive ways to explore destinations.

With continued growth across Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, Small Luxury Hotels of the World reinforces its position as a leading platform for independent luxury properties, responding to a global appetite for travel experiences that prioritise authenticity, design and connection to place.
