As Delta’s milestone Centennial year draws to a close, SkyMiles Members have just weeks left – until December 31 – to qualify for 2026 Medallion Status. The airline has detailed what is changing, what remains the same and how members can maximize the final stretch of 2025 to secure elite benefits.
Choice Benefits updated for 2026
Beginning February 1, 2026, Diamond and Platinum Medallion Members will see refreshed Choice Benefits, Delta’s customizable suite of elite perks. Updated values apply to certain statement credit options, though all other exclusive benefits remain unchanged. Delta emphasized that the adjustments reflect direct Member feedback.
Dwight James, S.V.P. – Customer Engagement & Loyalty and CEO of Delta Vacations, said the programme continues to evolve around Member expectations: “Earning and keeping the trust of our Members means being transparent about changes and continually investing in the experiences that matter most.”
To ensure fairness during the transition, Delta will automatically deposit the value difference for Members who select lower-value benefits before Feb. 1. Those who select higher-value options prior to their reduction will retain the higher amount.

Three ways to earn MQDs before December 31
Members still have time to achieve or level up their 2026 Medallion Status. Delta highlights three main avenues:
• Fly with Delta or partner airlines
• Spend on a Delta SkyMiles American Express Card
• Book a Delta Vacations package
These transactions count toward Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs), the sole metric for earning 2026 status.
Elevate Your Status returns – now tied to sustainable aviation fuel
Back for a limited time through Dec. 31, Elevate Your Status allows eligible U.S.-based SkyMiles Members to make a one-time MQD purchase to reach their desired 2026 tier. A significant update accompanies the programme’s return: 100% of proceeds (excluding processing fees) will go toward the procurement of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), which Delta notes can reduce lifecycle emissions by up to 80%.
MQD thresholds for 2027 remain unchanged
Looking ahead, Delta confirms no changes to MQD thresholds for achieving 2027 Medallion Status. Members can continue earning toward Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond levels in 2026 with no additional requirements.
For real-time tracking, the Delta app remains the primary tool for monitoring MQDs and seeing progress toward the next tier.
