High above the Puster Valley in South Tyrol, Hotel Hubertus has unveiled a transformed wellness offering — a dramatic expansion of its renowned Alpenreych Spa that blends cutting-edge design with the serene power of the surrounding mountains.
Over the winter, the 7,000-square-metre spa was reimagined with new panoramic relaxation areas, nature-inspired treatment rooms, and an enlarged indoor pool crafted by Herokal. The result is a wellness sanctuary suspended between earth and sky, true to the hotel’s iconic stilted architecture.
A Deeper Approach to Wellness
The refreshed treatment menu draws from both modern and traditional therapies. Highlights include the Total Body Massage, designed to melt away tension and restore energetic balance, and the Kobido Massage, a centuries-old Japanese facial that lifts and rejuvenates without invasive techniques. Guests can also enjoy an extensive sauna world with seven varieties, six heated pools, and treatments using Babor and Team Dr. Joseph products.
Immersion in Nature
Beyond the spa walls, the Alpenreych Park has been re-landscaped to feature a Kneipp pond — a local creation by Gärtnerei Oberlechner — offering the benefits of hydrotherapy. A thematic orchard path and mountain-facing loungers encourage moments of quiet reflection.
Heaven & Hell: A Spa with Two Perspectives
The hotel’s most striking feature is its Heaven & Hell wellness platform — a free-floating, two-storey steel structure connected by an elegant walkway from the relaxation room. The upper “Heaven” level offers whirlpools, panoramic showers, and endless Alpine views. The lower “Hell” level surprises with saunas, a whirlpool, and an ice room — some wellness cabins even appear upside down, flipping expectations of spa design.
With its latest transformation, designed in collaboration with noa* architects, Hotel Hubertus invites guests to experience wellness from new heights — both literally and figuratively.
