Travelers across Europe’s regional capitals now have a smoother gateway to exotic long-haul destinations. Low-cost carrier Volotea has signed a new interline agreement with Air Caraïbes and French Bee, offering a fully integrated travel experience to the Caribbean, North America, and beyond — all through Paris-Orly.
Starting August 6, passengers can book a single ticket that includes connecting flights between Volotea’s European network and long-haul destinations served by Air Caraïbes and French bee. The move transforms eight secondary French and Italian cities — Lourdes, Rodez, Alghero, Ancona, Genoa, Olbia, Turin, and Verona — into gateways for global travel.
Hassle-Free Long-Haul Travel from Regional Europe
What sets this agreement apart is its focus on convenience and integration. Travelers flying Volotea to Paris-Orly won’t need to recheck baggage or handle separate bookings. Instead, a single ticket covers the entire journey, including automatic baggage transfer and streamlined connections.
Destinations now accessible via this collaboration include:
Caribbean hotspots: Cancún, Punta Cana, Santo Domingo
French overseas territories: Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Réunion Island, Saint Barthélemy, Saint Martin
French Polynesia, the Bahamas, Canada, and major US cities like Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Newark
This means travelers from smaller cities in France and Italy no longer need to pass through multiple airports to reach dream destinations — Paris-Orly becomes their global hub.
A Strategic Step Toward Accessible Global Travel
Carlos Muñoz, CEO of Volotea, described the agreement as a milestone in “enhancing the customer experience” and “providing practical, integrated travel solutions.” He emphasized that the partnership aligns with Volotea’s mission to offer affordable connections between regional Europe and major global destinations.
Paul-Henri Dubreuil, chairman and CEO of Air Caraïbes and French bee, added that this collaboration reflects their commitment to seamless, smart, and responsible travel. “We are responding to a growing demand for simplicity and smooth connections,” he noted, highlighting the benefits for both European travelers and inbound visitors from North America and the French territories.
Broader Impact on Tourism and Regional Economies
Beyond passenger convenience, the deal also boosts the tourism potential of underserved regions. Travelers from the French Caribbean or the US can now explore lesser-known gems in France and Italy without logistical headaches — an opportunity that could lead to economic and cultural revitalization in those areas.
The partnership officially launches on August 6, with tickets available via the Air Caraïbes and French bee websites and participating travel agencies.
