In a city synonymous with beauty, history, and craftsmanship, Hotel Savoy—part of Rocco Forte Hotels—has unveiled a new luxury experience that captures Florence at its most evocative hour. Partnering with renowned Florentine jeweller Cassetti, the hotel presents “Golden Hour on the Arno”, a sunset itinerary that blends art, heritage, and gastronomy into one unforgettable evening.
Exclusively available to guests of Hotel Savoy until mid-October, the experience begins with a private guided walk through Florence’s historic centre, leading to the famed Ponte Vecchio. There, Cassetti opens the doors of its private archives—usually closed to the public—offering a rare glimpse into vintage brooches, rings, and heirloom necklaces that trace the lineage of the city’s goldsmithing legacy.
From craftsmanship to river charm, guests are then whisked away to the banks of the Arno, where a traditional Florentine sandboat awaits. An expert renaiolo (boatman) navigates the calm waters as the sun dips behind Renaissance rooftops. With a live violinist playing softly on board and an Italian aperitivo served as the golden reflections shimmer across the river, it’s a cinematic escape from the crowds—Florence as few ever experience it.
The evening concludes at Ristorante Irene, Hotel Savoy’s celebrated dining destination helmed by Chef Fulvio Pierangelini. Guests are treated to a refined three-course dinner, spotlighting local ingredients and paired with golden-hued Tuscan wines like Bàtar di Querciabella and Chardonnay di Monteverro, selected to echo the tones of the Florentine dusk.
Speaking about the experience, Hotel Savoy’s team notes: “This is a celebration of Florence’s soul—its craftsmanship, culture, and cuisine—brought together at sunset, the hour when the city is at its most poetic.”
