Bratislava Airport Expands with Six New Routes and a New Airline

Bratislava Airport is set to welcome a host of exciting new destinations this summer with the launch of six new flight routes. Starting with the time change on March 30, the airport will offer passengers direct flights to popular European cities, as well as new seasonal connections. These additions further bolster Bratislava’s growing reputation as a hub for affordable and convenient travel.

The new routes include direct flights to Bari and Milan-Malpensa, which will operate through Ryanair, providing Slovak travelers with additional Italian connections. These flights, beginning on March 30, will make it easier than ever to explore two of Italy’s most beloved cities. Additionally, Gdansk, Poland, will also be added to the flight schedule with direct connections beginning on April 1, marking the return of direct flights between Slovakia and Poland after a seven-year hiatus.

New Seasonal Routes

Starting in June, the airport will offer seasonal flights to Zadar, Croatia, and Skiathos, Greece, further enhancing Bratislava’s accessibility to some of Europe’s top vacation spots. The flight to Zadar will be operated by Ryanair, and it will connect travelers to the stunning Croatian coastline, especially near the popular Makarska Riviera. Skiathos, known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant atmosphere, will be a perfect summer destination for holidaymakers.

In addition to these exciting seasonal flights, Norwegian Airlines will join the mix of carriers serving Bratislava. The airline will begin operating direct flights to Copenhagen, Denmark, starting on June 28. This marks Norwegian’s return to the Slovak capital after an 11-year absence, and it offers an excellent new option for travelers seeking to explore Denmark’s vibrant capital.

More Connections to Turkey

The expansion at Bratislava Airport also includes an increase in flights to Turkey. Turkish airline Pegasus Airlines is ramping up its services, with more frequent flights to Istanbul and a return to Antalya for the summer season. The Istanbul route will remain a year-round service, while Antalya flights will resume in April, doubling in frequency during peak summer months. This will provide travelers with more opportunities to visit the Turkish cities of Izmir, Kayseri, and Ankara, as well as destinations in the Middle East.

Smartwings Expands Services

In a bid to offer more holiday destinations, Smartwings will begin regular flights from Bratislava to several popular destinations. From June to September, Smartwings will operate flights to the Greek islands of Rhodes, Crete, Corfu, and Zakynthos, as well as to Mallorca, Burgas (Bulgaria), Larnaca (Cyprus), and even Dubai. This expansion opens up a wealth of new options for travelers seeking sun-soaked destinations.

Ryanair Continues to Lead the Way

Ryanair remains the dominant carrier at Bratislava Airport, operating the majority of the routes, including the newly added services to Bari, Milan-Malpensa, Gdansk, Zadar, and Skiathos. In total, Bratislava Airport will now offer 39 scheduled routes across 36 destinations in 17 countries, making it an increasingly important hub for low-cost travel across Europe and beyond.

As summer 2025 approaches, Bratislava Airport continues to expand, offering more direct flights and increasing convenience for travelers in Slovakia and beyond. The new routes, along with the return of Norwegian Airlines, mark a new chapter for the airport and its growing network of international destinations.
