Desert Rock, a new eco-resort nestled in the mountains of Saudi Arabia near the Red Sea, has officially opened its doors. Designed by Oppenheim Architecture in collaboration with Red Sea Global, the resort seamlessly integrates architecture with nature, setting what the designers describe as “a new standard in immersive design.”
Carved into the rugged cliffs of the Hejaz Mountains, Desert Rock spans 30,000 square meters. The resort offers various types of accommodations, including the Wadi Villas, featuring private pools, and the Cliff Hanging Villas, perched high above the resort. For a more secluded experience, guests can choose from the Mountain Cave Suites and Mountain Crevice Villas, which feature pools on the edge of cliffs, hidden deep within the valley. The Royal Villa offers a completely personalized, private retreat.
The design of Desert Rock has been carefully planned to minimize its environmental impact. Sustainable materials have been reused in the infrastructure, and the resort features passive cooling systems and energy consumption management technologies. This eco-friendly approach ensures that the resort offers luxury and comfort while remaining in harmony with its breathtaking natural surroundings.
