Turkish Airlines has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Apple to introduce a baggage tracking system that aims to minimize lost luggage incidents and enhance the travel experience.
This innovative initiative is expected to significantly improve operational efficiency while addressing baggage-related disruptions. Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee Professor Dr. Ahmet Bolat shared the announcement on LinkedIn, highlighting the benefits of the collaboration.
With the release of iOS 18.2, passengers will be able to share the location of their luggage using devices equipped with Apple’s AirTag or Find My technology. By sharing this data with Turkish Airlines’ teams, the airline aims to quickly locate and return misplaced baggage.
Passengers can activate the feature through Apple’s Find My app by generating a “Share Location” link. This link can be securely submitted via the airline’s website, where it is automatically deleted after seven days unless manually disabled earlier.
Turkish Airlines also plans to extend this functionality to its mobile app, making it even more convenient for travelers.
“This partnership underscores our commitment to leveraging technology to improve passenger satisfaction and streamline our operations,” Bolat said. “We’re excited to offer this cutting-edge solution to enhance the travel experience for our customers worldwide.”
