Royal Jordanian Airlines will launch new nonstop service between Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) starting March 23, 2025. The capital-to-capital route will operate twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Sundays, using Boeing 787 aircraft configured to accommodate 270 passengers in business and economy class.
Chryssa Westerlund, executive vice president and chief revenue officer of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, welcomed the addition of this route. “Royal Jordanian’s new nonstop service to Amman will deepen ties between our two capitals. This route provides an important connection for government, business, and tourism between Washington, D.C., and the Middle East, which is an important and growing market for Dulles International.”
The new service marks Royal Jordanian Airlines’ first nonstop connection between Amman and Washington, D.C., and adds to the airline’s growing U.S. network. Royal Jordanian CEO Samer Majali emphasized the importance of the route to the airline’s five-year expansion strategy. “This connection provides seamless connectivity to the Gulf, Levant, and North Africa, reinforcing our commitment to exceptional service and fostering tourism, trade, and investment opportunities.”
Jordan’s ambassador to the United States, Dina Kawar, described the route as “a bridge across worlds” that will connect travelers to Jordan’s unique blend of ancient history and modern culture. “For those who venture to Jordan, whether out of curiosity, a need to reconnect, or the call of commerce, this flight will be a seamless journey into a place that exists both outside of time and firmly in the now,” she said.
With this new service, Royal Jordanian continues its mission to strengthen global connectivity and expand its presence in North America, offering passengers a direct link between two vibrant capitals.
