In July 2025, Belmond will introduce the Britannic Explorer, a luxury sleeper train set to redefine rail travel across England and Wales. Starting from London, the train will offer exclusive three-night journeys on three distinct routes through Cornwall, the Lake District, and Wales, with options to combine the Cornwall and Lake District routes into one extended trip.
The Britannic Explorer will run from Friday to Monday for the Cornwall and Lake District routes, while the Wales route will span Monday to Thursday, allowing travelers to experience a rich array of British landscapes. The experience will celebrate Britain’s rail heritage while embracing modern British culture, style, and cuisine.
The train’s fine dining will be led by renowned chef Simon Rogan, whose Michelin-starred restaurants emphasize seasonal, sustainable, locally-sourced ingredients, reflecting Britain’s regional diversity. Each journey will feature curated menus and signature experiences, including afternoon tea, lunch, and dinner, thoughtfully tailored to each route.
Beyond exquisite cuisine, the Britannic Explorer will offer cultural programming to immerse guests in the essence of British tradition and natural beauty. Guests on the Cornwall route can tour the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, while the Lake District itinerary includes options for wild swimming and scenic hikes. On the Wales route, travelers will be guided through historic landscapes and explore Welsh heritage.
For those venturing through the Cotswolds on the Lake District route, the Britannic Explorer will make a special stop at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, a Michelin two-star manor house hotel and restaurant in Oxfordshire, offering guests an unparalleled blend of countryside charm and refined dining.
