To provide tourists with access to hidden gems and secluded spots, the ride-hailing company Uber is introducing new water transportation options in Spain, Italy, Greece, and France this summer.
Paris (France)
From July 12 to August 3, 2024, Uber Cruise will be offering a free one-hour Seine River cruise in the French capital. Participants can admire the Parisian skyline and landmarks, including Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower, while enjoying a complimentary glass of wine.
Venice (Italy)
Water transportation remains one of the primary ways to get around the Italian city. Starting July 3, tourists can summon a water taxi through the Uber app by requesting a “Limo Boat.”
These boats cost €120 per trip and can accommodate up to six passengers. They are available on-demand from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily and can be accessed at nearly 200 dedicated pick-up and drop-off points throughout Venice.
Greece
Last year, Uber water taxis were launched on the Greek island of Mykonos, and this year the service is expanding to other Greek destinations. Starting in July, boats can be booked through the Uber app, allowing visitors to explore new and off-the-beaten-path beaches and locations in Athens, Corfu, and Santorini.
The service is available from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Prices vary depending on location, with a minimum starting price of €200 per boat.
Ibiza (Spain)
Starting in August 2024, daily 8-hour luxury yacht trips for up to eight people will depart from Ibiza at 12:00 PM on a Sunseeker yacht, complete with a personal skipper, a complimentary bottle of champagne, and locally sourced snacks. The yacht rental costs €1600. The price includes hotel-to-dock transfers, and guests can customize their own water-based itinerary.
Last year, Uber also launched hot air balloon flights in Turkey.
