The Abu Dhabi Cabinet has approved a new Blue Residency visa for foreigners who have made exceptional contributions to environmental protection and sustainable development both within and outside the UAE. This visa will be issued for a duration of ten years.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, highlighted that this initiative recognizes contributions to environmental protection, whether it be marine environments, terrestrial ecosystems, air quality, sustainable development technologies, circular economy initiatives, or related fields.
The Blue Residency visa will be granted to advocates of environmental protection, including members of international companies, representatives of associations and non-governmental organizations, recipients of international awards, as well as distinguished activists and researchers in the field of environmental protection. This applies to both Emirati citizens and individuals from other countries who are active in advocating for the environment.
Those interested in obtaining this visa should apply through the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security, or through representatives of competent state authorities recommended for this purpose.
