Starting May 25, Sunrise Airways is set to introduce intraregional flights linking four destinations within the Eastern Caribbean: Antigua, Dominica, St. Kitts, and St. Lucia. The airline will utilize Embraer 120 twin-turboprop aircraft, each capable of accommodating up to 30 passengers.
The new routes will operate daily, excluding Tuesdays, featuring two flights per day between Antigua and Dominica, as well as Antigua and St. Kitts. Additionally, there will be daily service from Antigua to St. Lucia.
Philippe Bayard, Chairman and CEO of Sunrise Airways, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, emphasizing the airline’s commitment to enhancing connectivity among Caribbean islands under the One Caribbean concept. He described this expansion into the Eastern Caribbean as a significant milestone in the company’s 12-year history.
Sunrise Airways highlighted that its Antigua-to-St. Lucia route stan ds as the sole connection between these two islands.
This expansion follows the carrier’s introduction of flights between Miami and Haiti last October, with Cap-Haitien currently being the only available route. As security conditions in Port-au-Prince improve, the airline plans to resume flights between Miami and Haiti’s capital.
In addition to the new Eastern Caribbean routes, Sunrise Airways operates flights to 12 other gateways across six Caribbean and Central American destinations, including Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Panama City, and St. Maarten. The airline aims to further expand its presence in the Eastern Caribbean throughout 2024 and beyond, with specific plans yet to be disclosed.
