Accor has joined forces with Alesayi Holding to unveil plans for the Abraj Omar Hotel & Residences Makkah – MGallery Collection. Situated in the heart of the Holy City of Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this development promises to be a captivating addition to Makkah’s hospitality landscape.
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Makkah, this hotel serves as a serene urban sanctuary, paying homage to Makkah’s celestial heritage while drawing inspiration from the symbolism of Islamic gardens. It will offer pilgrims and travelers alike an opportunity to immerse themselves in a lush haven within the city, fostering spiritual reflection and rejuvenation.
Each floor of the building will be meticulously themed around prominent figures in Islamic history, with the first floor dedicated to Omar Ibn Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with Him), the second Rashidun caliph and one of the ten promised paradise. Guests will be treated to a boutique hotel experience, deeply rooted in cultural significance.
Scheduled to open its doors in 2028, Abraj Omar Hotel & Residences Makkah – MGallery Collection will span 2,600 square meters, boasting 276 hotel rooms and 214 branded residences for sale. The development will also feature a business center, bespoke fitness room and spa, diverse dining options, and a children’s playground.
The hotel will become part of the MGallery Collection brand, known for its distinctive, design-focused, and heritage properties worldwide. With over 120 luxury boutique hotels under its banner, the brand aims to expand its network by 30% by 2030, with 47 hotels currently in development globally, including three others in Saudi Arabia.
Commenting on the project, Jean-Baptiste Recher, Regional Vice President Luxury Development at Accor, expressed pride in the collaboration with longstanding partner Alesayi Group. He emphasized the project’s significance in enriching MGallery Collection’s presence in Saudi Arabia, with meticulous attention to local storytelling and architecture.
Eng. Hany Habashy, CEO of Alesayi Holding Group, highlighted the strategic partnership with Accor as a commitment to excellence. He underscored the project’s potential to redefine Makkah’s hospitality landscape, aligning with the goals of Vision 2030’s Quality of Life Program.
Under a master development agreement, Alesayi Holding Group already boasts three Accor hotels within its portfolio, with plans for further expansion, including the development of ibis and Adagio brands in Saudi Arabia. The conglomerate also intends to embark on several real estate projects in the Kingdom, featuring mixed-use developments with hotel components.
Marriott International, Inc. announced it has signed an agreement with NEOM to open its second Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Saudi Arabia. Anticipated to open in Trojena, a year-round mountain destination located in the northwest region of the country.
