Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants announced today it will open a boutique hotel in the Historic District of Roswell, Georgia in early 2024. The new Kimpton marks the brand’s fifth destination in the Peach State and its first in the affluent Atlanta suburb.
As part of True North Companies’ much-buzzed-about West Alley project, the Kimpton hotel will be operated by HEI Hotels & Resorts and will house 125 guest rooms, including 20 suites, nearly 6,500 square feet of indoor meetings and events space, 11,000-square-foot courtyard, fitness center, rooftop restaurant and a ground-floor restaurant and bar. In true Kimpton fashion, stunning interiors by renowned Sims Patrick Studio will curate a sense of space that references the relaxed and nature-inspired lifestyle of this unique destination. Design for the destination has been created by Randall-Paulson Architects serving as the architect of record on the project. Additionally, the hotel will offer guests all of Kimpton’s beloved amenities and offerings including morning coffee and tea service, hosted evening social hour, pet-friendly policies, “Forgot It? We’ve Got It!” program and bicycles for local exploration.
“We’ve seen great success with our brand expansion in the South, especially so in Georgia,” said Mike DeFrino, chief executive officer, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. “More and more we’re moving into markets that are city-adjacent, where we know not only people are moving to but also seeking out to visit. We believe Roswell’s residents and visitors alike will really resonate with the Kimpton brand and the unique guest experiences and elevated restaurants and bars we’re known for.”
Located on Mimosa Boulevard and Magnolia Street, the three-story hotel will generously complement the vision of the West Alley mixed-use development, to transform an underdeveloped site in the heart of the Historic District into a destination for generations to enjoy. Thanks to its expansive, intentionally designed green space and ample parking, West Alley Roswell will serve as a central place for events, festivals and other community gatherings. As anchor, the new Kimpton will provide a perfect place for Georgia residents to grab a bite to eat, a drink with friends or a much-needed staycation and allow visiting leisure and business guests a central hub to explore and enjoy all this vibrant city has to offer.
“We’re honored to be working with our new partners at HEI and Kimpton to elevate a new brand of southern hospitality in the heart of Roswell,” said Walt Gill, president, True North Companies. “Their expertise and accomplishments in designing and delivering unparalleled experiences will allow us to provide a one-of-a-kind destination for the city’s leisure guests and its corporate travelers alike.”
The Historic Roswell District has become a haven for culture seekers and outdoor enthusiasts seeking its stately historic homes, art galleries, restaurants, local shops, community events, parks, trails and outdoor excursions. Those booking a Kimpton stay or a dining reservation will find a thriving, connected community with ample activity and easy walkability.
