Siberia Airlines Passengers Can Measure Their Baggage Using an iPhone

S7 Airlines

Siberia Airlines has updated its iOS app with a baggage measuring function1. There is no need to look for a special frame at the airport to check the size of your carry-on anymore. All you need to do now is launch the app and quickly scan your bag or your suitcase.

The carry-on baggage must weigh no more than 10 kg and measure no more than 55×40×23 cm to be allowed in the cabin of an aircraft. To check the size of your suitcase, you will need to access the “Measure luggage” section of the S7 app. Detailed instructions will appear on the screen. Once you’ve made sure the space around your suitcase is free, press the “Start checking” button and hold it down as you move your iPhone around the bag or the suitcase.

After the scan is complete, the size of the baggage will appear on the screen. The app will compare it to the regular baggage allowance and display a notification on the screen indicating whether it it possible to take the bag into the cabin or if it needs to be checked.

If the dimensions do not exceed the baggage allowance, the screen will show, “The baggage is good to go.” If the dimensions do not meet the requirements, the app will display a warning about the suitcase not being suitable for transportation on an aircraft.
