Torunlar REIC and Hilton have signed a franchise agreement with Hilton for the hotel under construction at Mall of İstanbul, Turkey’s largest mixed-use project. The Hilton Mall of Istanbul project marks a debut tourism investment for Torunlar REIC, Turkey’s largest private real estate investment company.

Hilton Mall of İstanbul will have a total of 180 rooms, with 19 suites and 161 standard rooms. The hotel complex comprises facilities including a congress center, restaurant, executive lounge, spa, fitness center, and swimming pool as well as shopping areas. Hilton Mall of İstanbul expects to create approximately 300 jobs once opened in 2020, and will be managed by TRN Hotel Management.

The signing ceremony for Mall of İstanbul Hilton Hotel franchise agreement was held with the participation of Aziz Torun, Chairman at Torunlar REIC, and Carlos Khneisser, Vice President of Development at Hilton MENA & Turkey.

Hilton MENA & Turkey Vice President of Development Carlos Khneisser said: “We are very proud to take part in such an amazing project. For more than 60 years, since Hilton Hotels & Resorts opened the doors of Hilton İstanbul Bosphorus, we have been a pioneer in the global hospitality sector. And now, Hilton Mall of İstanbul will set the highest standards at the developing and rising part of the city.”

Aziz Torun, Chairman, Torunlar REIC added: “We are delighted to join forces with the world’s top hotel brand Hilton at the Mall of İstanbul, which has been recognized as the “Best of the Best” by the International Council of Shopping Centers. With a range of investors from 35 countries in its residential housing complex and over 2 million international visitors annually, Mall of İstanbul will gain even more international spotlight with the Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand.  Valued at USD 71 million without the land cost, Hilton Mall of İstanbul is set to welcome guests in the summer of 2020. It will be one of the closest five-star hotels to the Istanbul Airport, a hub for more than 260 destinations in five continents.”

The hotel will benefit from direct subway access to the Masko station along the Ataköy-İkitelli Metro line to open next year.

Torun continued: “The subway will provide our guests easy access to every part of Istanbul. We strongly believe that the Hilton hotel’s offerings will build synergy with Mall of Istanbul, which has 350 stores with top global brands, gourmet restaurants, food courts, Europe’s largest indoor theme park, movie theaters and a performance hall, Turkey’s biggest shopping, entertainment and social complex. Hilton Mall of İstanbul will also significantly contribute to Istanbul’s flourishing culture, health and shopping tourism.”

“Hilton Mall of İstanbul will also host national and international business gatherings at its 1410-seat conference hall, and 10 meeting rooms of different sizes,” stated Torun.
