41st International Fair of Tourism Opens in Belgrade

The largest and by far the most important tourist event both in the country and in Southeast Europe – 41st International Fair of Tourism in Belgrade opened today.

From 21 February until 24 February 2019, the most important travel agencies, associations and organizations, hotels, tourist centers, airlines, international tour operators will have the opportunity to present themselves, as well as the latest concepts and trends of various travelling opportunities.

As a modern and commercial European fair, the Tourism Fair represents a trademark of the Belgrade Fair and the city of Belgrade. This year the event is expected to be visited by as much as 60 to 70 thousand visitors.

Tourism – among the fastest growing industries in Serbia

The importance of tourism for the overall economic and social development of our country, as well as the importance of all organizations and individuals that contribute to its development, is represented in the programs and programs at the Tourism Fair. The significance of the Fair for the economics and the Serbian economy has been confirmed by the active participation of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia, government competent authorities and other organizations. During the Fair, inter-state cooperation agreements have been traditionally signed and a significant number of business deals made. The Belgrade Tourism Fair has entered its fifth decade as the leading tourist event in this part of Europe and the world, as well as a unique event for gathering businessmen in the tourism, hospitality and service industry.

Participants at the Tourism Fair

This year, more than 650 direct exhibitors and co-exhibitors from 38 countries participate at the Tourism Fair. Together with business visitors there is a total of 40 countries. Over 900 exhibitors present themselves together with the remaining three fairs at the Belgrade Fair. For the first time this year, the Maldives presented at the Tourism Fair, with Indonesia and Cuba returning to the fair.

For all those who are eagerly waiting for the summer of 2019, the Tourism Fair is a unique place that reveals new destinations and new places that are only beginning to see the day of light in Serbia, where visitors can become acquainted with the comprehensive and premier offers of popular resorts and hotels, make a discount on the spot, compare prices and decide where to go on their ideal holiday.

The announced discounts range from 5 to 50 percent depending on agency and destination, whilst multi-benefit packages often play a crucial role in selecting a destination, especially for multi-child families.
The visitors will be able to choose trips to their taste and that from a whole host of fair offers: tempting offers, premier first-minute holiday offers in the summer, travel packages for the current winter season, recovery in spas and in the mountains, family trips, trips for young people – youth tourism, spa weekends, distances, exotic destinations, cruises, city break offer, congress events…

Apart from air tickets for the whole world, the travel agencies also offer packages for the First of May and Easter holidays, holidays in ethno villages, organized regattas, white-water rafting…

Exhibition concept:

Hall 1 accommodates travel agencies, foreign tourism organizations, Bulgaria as a partner country, foreign exhibitors, national airlines. Youth hall tourism will be promoted in 1A hall. A business offer will be presented by insurance companies, faculties and higher schools of tourism and hospitality in Hall 2 on level A, apart from travel agencies. Participants at the BeoWine Fair are eagerly waiting for you in Halls 3 and 3A. Hall 4 will promote domestic tourism – mountains, spas, lakes, farms … Halls 2B and 2C will exhibit equipment for the hospitality and service industry at the HORECA EQUIPMENT Fair.

New at Tourism Fair 2019 – B2B Business Portal

With the constant endeavor to improve the commercial aspect of the fair – sales of travel packages and the most efficient presentation of the exhibitors’ offer, the Tourism Fair is continuously focused on improving business visits, business meetings and interaction of domestic businessmen and professionals from around the world, who have been successful in the field of tourism for many years. In cooperation with the business partners of the Tourism Fair, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and Enterprise Europe Network, this year the B2B program and business portal has been introduced as a novelty for the purpose of registering exhibitors and business visitors, as well as their interconnection at the fair. The B2B portal is also open to media representatives, who
can schedule the meetings and interviews with the participants and guests at the Fair.

So far, 731 participants have been registered and over 5700 views of business profiles have been performed. The Belgrade Fair created special packages of convenience for business visitors and guests alike at this year’s Tourism Fair.

Serbia – the host country of the Tourism Fair

For many years now, Serbia has been positioned as a favorite and unavoidable destination in this part of Europe, with a constant increase in the number of overnight stays and arrivals, especially in the capital. The latest data show that Serbia is among the top five countries in Europe with the highest number of foreign tourist arrivals and for the first time now a number of domestic and foreign tourists has been made equal.

The offer of local destinations and historical sites at the fair includes the capacities both hotels and tourist center resorts offer, as well as natural beauties, various holidays, entertainment, health recovery, sports, recreation and adventure contents as a part of tourist attractons based on which Serbia is becoming more and more distinguished on the tourist market.

The Tourism Fair represents an opportunity to promote tourist infrastructure development projects and incentive measures of travel agencies in Serbia for the organized arrival of foreign tourists.
Since Serbia well-known for its hospitality, guests from all over the world enjoy this kind of feeling, but not just foreigners but domestic tourists alike who more and more choose to spend their holiday in their country.

More vouchers for tourists – incentive for the development of domestic tourism

Ever since the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications have introduced vouchers, as well as promotional activities, the number of domestic tourists has been significantly on the rise. This year, the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications has set aside a number of vouchers for staying in domestic tourist centres, thus further stimulating the development of domestic tourism.
Citizens may use more than 100,000 vouchers, and at the Tourism Fair they will be able to choose a travel package that will suit their needs from a comprehensive range of domestic tourist capacities.

Youth tourism at the Tourism Fair in Hall 1A

In order to enhance and promote all kinds of tourism, this year the Belgrade Fair has decided to represent another segment of the visitor offer. Youth tourism is one of the most popular forms of tourism that actively takes part in all kinds of tourism trends. Hall 1A will accommodate the most popular domestic travel agencies that primarily focus on young and offer travel packages for the whole world and Serbia alike. These agencies have become leaders in the region, whereby this will be the chance to meet customers who are interested in this part of Europe. Young people most often travel to concerts, festivals and parties, for which reason the most important musical and cultural events in our country will be presented. One of the novelties this hall will introduce is the presentation of the co- working space of Serbia.

The platform “Serbia creates”

“Serbia Creates” project will be presented at this year’s Tourism Fair. “Serbia creates” is a new platform that represents all the best Serbia has to offer, primarily focusing on creativity and innovation that stimulates cultural, artistic, tourist and trade connectivity, and as such it was created based on the initiative of Prime Minister Ana Brnabic. Apart from digitalization and education reform, Prime Minister Brnabic has laid stress on creative industries among her key priorities. In order to support them in the best possible way, she founded the Creative Industries Council, which consists of the most distinguished individuals and organizations in the field.
Visitors at the Tourism Fair will be able to become more acquainted with the most successful individuals and initiatives in the fields of art, culture, technology, science … Video materials will be broadcast in hall 1A, as well as on large screens at the entrance and hall 1.

The Tourism Organization of Serbia (TOS) represents the entire tourist offer of Serbia with emphasis on cultural and historical heritage, active holidays, natural resources of our country as well as gastronomy.
Tourism organizations from across Serbia will promote numerous festivals, manifestations and events, as well as the key potentials of their place and plans relative to their further activities.

The Tourism Organization of Belgrade (TOB) at the Tourism Fair will promote Belgrade’s travel offer that is continually improving. As already a well-established business “city break” destination, Belgrade is attractive for investments, congresses and seminars, and is well-known for being a city of culture, sports, good energy, shopping and entertainment.

Exclusive fair discounts, a whole host of different destinations for traveling and holidays, as well as tasting of the best wines, brandy, beverages and specialties of thw region, will without any doubt attract more than 75 thousand visitors this year.
