No Departures at BER on February 1 Due to Strike

There will be no departures from Berlin Brandenburg Airport on Thursday, 1 February due to the warning strike announced by the ver.di trade union for aviation security staff at several commercial airports. The airport company officially informed its partners, such as airlines, ground handlers, security companies and local businesses, this evening. Passengers affected are asked to contact their airline for information on rebooking and alternative travel options.

Arrivals may also be affected. This will be decided by the respective airline.
Initially, around 170 take-offs and landings each were planned for the day, with almost 50,000 passengers in total.

BER is keeping passengers informed via its website and social networks.

Recently, the German Locomotive Drivers’ Union (GDL) announced a strike that affected Deutsche Bahn from 2:00 on Wednesday, January 24, until 18:00 on Monday, January 29.
