The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship returns to Tokyo on 25 and 26 July for rounds 14 and 15 of Season 12, marking the first time the Japanese E-Prix will be held under the lights.

For the inaugural night races in Tokyo since Formula E first visited Japan, the all-electric championship will stage a double-header at the street circuit near the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition centre. Saturday’s race will also feature the championship’s “Pit Boost” mandatory pit stop.

Known for its combination of long straights and tight, technical corners, the Tokyo circuit is regarded as one of the most challenging layouts on the Formula E calendar.

DS Automobiles and PENSKE AUTOSPORT will field Maximilian Günther and Taylor Barnard for the weekend. Günther, who claimed victory at the Tokyo E-Prix in Season 10, will be looking to repeat his success, while Barnard returns after securing an impressive third-place finish during last year’s Japanese race weekend.

The two races are scheduled to start at 13:00 CET (20:00 local time) on Saturday and Sunday.

With the championship entering its final stages, the Tokyo double-header represents another opportunity for DS Automobiles and PENSKE AUTOSPORT to strengthen their position in the Season 12 standings.
