Calcot & Spa is set to expand its countryside offering with the launch of two new luxury treehouses, known as The Hides, welcoming their first guests in June 2026.
Tucked away within the hotel’s 220 acres of rewilded meadowland, The Hides are designed to offer complete seclusion and immersion in nature. The treehouses are being built by specialist company Blue Forest, with interiors created by designer Cathy Birtles, whose work focuses on natural materials and calm, landscape-led design.
Each Hide features two bedrooms, making them suitable for both couples and families. The main bedroom is described as having calming design cues and natural textures, while a loft-style second bedroom is intended for children. A central living space opens out towards the surrounding woodland, complemented by a private deck that encourages guests to slow down and engage with the landscape.
Inside, the aesthetic leans heavily into woodland inspiration. Soft furnishings, ambient lighting, and expansive views across the Cotswolds create a sense of quiet luxury rather than overt opulence. Added touches include a small pantry area, binoculars for birdwatching, rewilding maps highlighting the surrounding environment, and a selection of locally sourced treats.
Bookings for The Hides are now open, with prices starting from £1,180. Calcot & Spa has confirmed that the treehouses will officially open to guests in June next year.
The launch follows a period of continued investment at the property. In summer 2025, Calcot & Spa unveiled The Grain Store, a major new fitness facility developed as part of a £5 million project, further strengthening the hotel’s positioning as a wellness-focused countryside retreat.
Calcot & Spa is part of The Calcot Collection, a group of luxury hotels, inns, and spas led by executive chairman Richard Ball and his senior team. The collection comprises three properties across the Cotswolds and Northumberland. Alongside Calcot & Spa, it includes The Painswick, a Palladian-style country house in the Cotswolds, and The Lord Crewe Arms, located on the edge of the dramatic North Pennines landscape.
With The Hides, Calcot & Spa continues to tap into growing demand for nature-led stays that combine privacy, sustainability, and thoughtful design, positioning the property firmly within the evolving landscape of modern British luxury travel.
