What Is Bassinet Seat?

The Bassinet Seat is a designated seat on the aircraft for passengers with infants. This seat is usually the bulkhead seat or row. Most airlines have a detachable cot (or basket-like bed) to attach to the wall for infants to rest while the parent is seated right in front. This seat must be reserved/requested before the departure date as airlines also have specific age and weight restrictions.

A bassinet is designed for infants under 6 months old. Infants over this age may be more comfortable in a car safety seat instead, especially on long flights.
