Farnborough International Airshow 2026 Unveils Expanded Flying Display Programme

Farnborough International Airshow has expanded its flying display programme for the 2026 event, adding the United Arab Emirates’ national aerobatic team alongside new military demonstrations, commercial aircraft, business jets, historic warbirds and advanced air mobility aircraft.

The five-day aerospace exhibition, taking place from 20 to 24 July, will once again bring together leading aviation, defence and space organisations for aircraft demonstrations, technology showcases, product launches and major industry announcements.

UAE Aerobatic Team Joins the Flying Programme

One of the latest additions to the flying display is Fursan Al Emarat, the UAE National Aerobatics Team. The team arrived in Hampshire on 11 July to validate its display routine ahead of the event.

Flying seven Hongdu L-15 jet trainers in close formation, the display represents the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates. The aircraft feature distinctive black-and-gold liveries and produce smoke trails in the colours of the UAE national flag.

Military Aircraft and Helicopter Demonstrations

The military flying programme includes daily performances by the USAF F-35A Lightning II Demo Team throughout the show, while Embraer’s C-390 Millennium transport aircraft will appear on the opening day.

Visitors will also see daily Chinook Role Demonstrations by the Joint Aviation Command, with the British Army Air Corps Display Team showcasing Apache and Wildcat helicopters on 23 and 24 July.

Parachute displays will be provided by the British Army’s Red Devils on the opening and closing days, while the RAF Falcons will perform on the final day. The RAF Eurofighter Typhoon and Czech Air Force L-159 will also conduct scheduled flypasts.

Commercial, Business and Future Aircraft

Commercial aviation will be represented by daily flying displays from the Airbus A350-1000 and the GE Aerospace-operated Saab 340B throughout the week.

Bombardier will showcase its flagship Global 8000 business jet every day, while BETA Technologies will demonstrate its CX300 advanced air mobility aircraft, highlighting emerging sustainable aviation technologies.

Historic Warbirds Return to the Skies

Historic aviation remains a popular attraction at Farnborough. This year’s programme includes flying displays by the Rolls-Royce-operated Supermarine Spitfire PR Mk XIX on 23 and 24 July, while the Ultimate Warbird Flight P-51D Mustang will perform on the final day.

Aerobatic enthusiasts can also look forward to a performance by the Starlings Aerobatic Team on Friday, 24 July.

Expanded Static Aircraft Display

The static display has also grown, with new additions spanning commercial, military and future aviation sectors.

New aircraft on static display include the Textron Cessna SkyCourier, Bell 505 and Bell 407 helicopters, the Bell MV-75, and a full-scale mock-up of Turkish Aerospace’s HÜRJET advanced jet trainer.

Farnborough International Airshow 2026 runs from 20 to 24 July and is expected to attract thousands of aerospace professionals from around the world, showcasing the latest developments across commercial aviation, defence, space and emerging aviation technologies.
