Holland America Adds 5 Norway Fjord Calls to 2027 Cruises

Holland America Line is expanding its Norway programme in 2027, adding calls to Flam and Hellesylt on five cruises aboard Rotterdam. The change gives guests more access to some of the country’s best-known fjord destinations.

The updated itineraries put passengers closer to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Nærøyfjord and Storfjorden, which is the gateway to Geirangerfjord. UNESCO considers the Geirangerfjord and Nærøyfjord regions to be among “the most scenically outstanding fjord areas on the planet,” according to the cruise line.

The move strengthens Holland America Line’s appeal to travellers looking for scenic northern Europe sailings, with the Norwegian fjords remaining one of the line’s most sought-after experiences. By adding more port calls, the company is widening access to landscapes that have become central to many cruise itineraries in the region.

Rotterdam is at the centre of the changes, with five cruises now including the extra stops. Flåm and Hellesylt are both well established on fjord routes, but the additions mean more guests can visit areas that connect directly with some of Norway’s most famous natural landmarks.

Flåm sits at the inner end of Aurlandsfjord, a branch of the larger Sognefjord, while Hellesylt lies near the entrance to Geirangerfjord. Together, the two ports offer different ways into the dramatic fjord network that draws visitors to western Norway each year.

For cruise passengers, the revised programme means more time in one of Europe’s most recognisable scenery corridors. The updated routes also reflect continuing demand for destinations that combine easy access, UNESCO-listed landscapes and classic Norwegian coastal views.

Holland America Line has not said whether further changes will follow beyond the 2027 season. For now, the five updated Rotterdam sailings mark a notable expansion of the line’s Norway offering.
