Inn at Hancock is set to reopen on May 1, 2026, following a three-year restoration that reimagines one of the United States’ oldest operating inns for modern luxury travelers.
Originally opened in 1789, the property has long been a cultural landmark in New England, welcoming generations of guests—from political figures to writers—drawn to the natural beauty of the Monadnock region.
Heritage Meets Contemporary Luxury
The extensive renovation preserves the inn’s historic character while introducing a refined, design-led aesthetic shaped by Kerri Landry and her studio Heston Woodcock.
Working alongside designer Jeffrey Delvy, the project blends heritage architecture with global influences, creating interiors that balance tradition with a sense of creativity and individuality.
Each space has been designed to feel both timeless and expressive, with layered materials, bold colour palettes and curated décor reflecting a mix of history, travel and art.
Distinctive Suites With Individual Character
The inn features 15 suites, each uniquely designed with its own narrative and style.
From Parisian-inspired rooms to larger Manor Suites with Anglo-American influences, accommodations combine period antiques with bespoke furnishings and modern comforts.
Amenities include luxury linens by Frette, bath products from Floris London, nightly turndown service and personalised concierge support, with select suites offering fireplaces and soaking tubs.
Culinary Programme Rooted In Local Ingredients
Dining is a central part of the experience, with a culinary concept inspired by French and continental cuisine.
The property offers multiple dining spaces, including a signature restaurant with seasonal tasting menus, a garden-inspired dining room and a more relaxed lounge setting.
Menus focus on locally sourced ingredients and regional producers, aligning with broader trends toward sustainability and provenance in luxury hospitality.
Country Retreat With Curated Experiences
Set within the landscapes of New Hampshire, the inn positions itself as a base for outdoor and cultural experiences.
Guests can access activities such as hiking, fly fishing, skiing and cycling, alongside curated experiences arranged through the concierge team.
The concept reflects a growing demand for experiential travel, where luxury is defined by immersion, authenticity and connection to place.
A New Chapter For A Historic Landmark
The reopening marks a significant evolution for the Inn at Hancock, combining centuries of history with a contemporary vision of hospitality.
With additional developments planned, including wellness programming and local ventures, the project aims to strengthen the region’s appeal to high-end travellers while preserving its cultural legacy.
