Scandic Expands in Western Norway with the Opening of Scandic Victoria Florø

Scandic has opened its first hotel in Florø, unveiling Scandic Victoria Florø as the newest addition to its Nordic portfolio. The property, formerly Comfort Hotel Victoria, welcomes guests under the Scandic flag as the company accelerates its long-term growth strategy focused on franchise partnerships and market expansion.

With 97 rooms and meeting capacity for up to 150 participants, the hotel strengthens Scandic’s presence along Norway’s west coast and reinforces its position as the region’s leading hotel operator. The property will be run by the Helle family under a franchise agreement, reflecting Scandic’s ambition to build lasting local partnerships with a strong focus on guest experience.

According to Asle Prestegard, Chief Operations Officer at Scandic Hotels Group, expanding the franchise portfolio is central to the company’s plan for 2030. The strategy aims to add approximately 10,000 rooms across the Nordic region, with half of that growth coming from the Scandic Go brand in the rapidly developing economy segment. Scandic is also targeting 30 to 40 new franchise openings, broadening its reach across key destinations.

For the Helle family – Mads, Ole and Leif Arne – the transition to Scandic marks a significant step for the property. They highlighted the investments and upgrades already made to the hotel and expressed confidence that Scandic’s brand strength and operational expertise will elevate the offering for both locals and visitors.

The opening follows a year of momentum for Scandic. Earlier in 2025, the company debuted its sixth signature hotel, The Dock 69°39 by Scandic, in Tromsø. Scandic has also signed agreements for five additional Nordic properties representing more than 1,400 rooms, reinforcing its long-term commitment to strategic, sustainable expansion.

With Scandic Victoria Florø now part of the portfolio, the group continues to strengthen its footprint in Norway’s most sought-after destinations while shaping a diversified growth trajectory through both signature and franchise hotels.
