A brand-new chapter in Sydney’s hotel scene is about to unfold as 25hours Hotel The Olympia gears up for its highly anticipated debut on 25th September 2025. Marking the iconic German hospitality brand’s first foray into Australia, the hotel is now open for bookings—and promises a deeply creative stay that reimagines a storied Sydney landmark.
Set on 1-11 Oxford Street, where the beloved West Olympia Theatre and Grand Pacific Blue Room once stood, the new hotel pays homage to the site’s rich cultural history. But this isn’t just a restoration—it’s a rebirth. In true 25hours fashion, The Olympia is designed to reflect the soul of the city it lives in, blending cinematic nostalgia with contemporary flair to create a destination where locals and travellers alike can feel part of Sydney’s creative pulse.
Guests can choose between 109 artfully designed rooms, styled as either ‘Dreamers’ or ‘Renegades.’ Dreamers—housed on levels 2 and 4—offer a serene, light-filled escape with soft blues and romantic accents, while Renegades—on levels 1 and 3—channel a moody, rebellious spirit with bold patterns and deeper hues. It’s a clever, character-driven concept that gives every stay a personal touch.
But 25hours Hotel The Olympia isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s set to become a local social anchor, with four distinct venues designed to appeal to every taste. Food lovers can look forward to The Palomar, a Sydney transplant of Studio Paskin’s celebrated London restaurant. Overseen by Mitch Orr, a cornerstone of Sydney’s culinary scene, The Palomar blends Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavours with a bold Australian twist.
For drinks, head to The Mulwray, an elegant wine and cocktail bar inspired by the femme fatale from Chinatown, or enjoy coffee and connection at Jacob The Angel, the hotel’s stylish café located on the buzzing ground floor. The cherry on top? Monica, the rooftop bar imagined by Ennismore’s Carte Blanched studio, where ’60s Hollywood glam meets modern Sydney cool. Expect bold design, sweeping city views, and a vibe that invites both lazy afternoons and lively nights.
With its address at the crossroads of Paddington, Surry Hills, Darlinghurst, Kings Cross, and Moore Park, 25hours Hotel The Olympia is more than just a boutique stay—it’s an open invitation to experience the city’s most eclectic neighbourhoods, all from one vibrant home base.
Local residents will also be among the first to get a taste of what’s to come, with special opening events and community programming on the horizon.
Rates start at €195, and given the buzz already building, early booking is recommended.
