Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the main airport in Bangladesh’s capital, has been closed until further notice, according to Kamrul Islam, the airport’s executive director.
The decision was made due to a large influx of people at the airport following reports of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation.
In response to the volatile situation, Air India and IndiGo have announced the cancellation of their flights to and from Dhaka with immediate effect.
