The cruise ship MSC Armonia, with over 1,500 passengers aboard, has been stuck in the port of Barcelona since April 2nd. This is related to citizens of Bolivia who may have boarded the vessel with fake visas, El PaÃs newspaper reported.
The crew of the liner, owned by the MSC company, identified document issues with 69 Bolivians after the ship had left Brazil. It is noted that the liner is not prohibited from continuing its journey to Italy, but it remains docked in the port of Barcelona. However, the Spanish police did not allow passengers to disembark. The country’s authorities called on MSC to take responsibility for repatriating the illegal travelers. The company stated that they are already addressing the issue, and the embassy of Bolivia in Spain is also involved in resolving the matter.
Earlier, the cruise liner Norwegian Dawn was quarantined due to suspected cholera.
