Mandarin Oriental is set to launch its second hotel in London Mandarin Oriental Mayfair next January, featuring a new spa designed as a boutique sister location to its flagship spa at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park.
Available to hotel guests, residents, and the local community, the underground wellness retreat at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair is scheduled to welcome its first guests in early 2024. The facilities will include an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, vitality pools, experience showers, steam rooms, and a gym.
Designed by Tokyo-based studio Curiosity, responsible for the hotel’s public spaces, the spa aims to be a “hub of nature and art.” Drawing inspiration from the greenery of Hanover Square, the interiors feature a striking green Ming marble reception desk and a palette of natural materials such as wood, stone, and warm bronze, complemented by candle-like lighting.
The wellness menu will offer traditional therapist-led treatments, along with binaural acoustic and dynamic stimulation designed to synchronize with brain waves for a meditative, relaxed state. NAD+ vitamin-boosting IV infusions will also be available. Signature experiences inspired by the local surroundings include a four-handed Tranquillity of Mayfair massage therapy and a signature Elegance of Mayfair facial.
The spa has partnered with brands like Swiss Perfection, Seed to Skin Tuscany, OTO, and Aromatherapy Associates.
Beyond traditional spa services, Mandarin Oriental Mayfair has collaborated with Bodyspace to offer hyper-personalized lifestyle performance services. These include personal training, a digitally connected Pilates Reformer, a multi-function fitness center, swimming and fitness assessments, nutritional consultations, physiotherapy, and NormaTec compression therapy – technology used by elite athletes for improved recovery and performance.
