Leading architecture and interior design firm Stonehill Taylor just unveiled their design of the first Motto Hotel in New York City. The Motto brand is known for its tailored neighborhood connection and design. This 42-story project in particular is the brand’s first new ground-up hotel, and they worked with Stonehill Taylor to capture the essence of its location in the former industrial and now iconic arts neighborhood of Chelsea.
The hotel’s lobby features a striking entry with industrial materials and shapes paying homage to the rich history of the neighborhood. Upon entering the hotel, the lobby features a lounge area with a dramatic brass-topped arched-shaped millwork bar and a cafe that generates a welcoming, gathering space for guests.
The cozy compact-sized rooms with clever design and flexible furniture is a signature of Motto Hotels. With locally inspired rooms, the Motto Chelsea features classic New York City photography and unobstructed views of the skyline. Every room is equipped with smart technology to adjust the temperature and lighting, making the stay more personal and efficient for all guests.
