Regent Seven Seas Cruises Partners with Sotheby’s

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has launched a partnership with Sotheby’s showcasing five episodes of Tim Marlow’s Must-See Museum Shows, which feature monthly recommendations of the best exhibitions to visit around the world.

Marlow has been a source for recommending art exhibitions worldwide for many years, and Regent, an authority in luxury travel and bespoke cultural experiences, enables art lovers to visit a multitude of world-class galleries and museums across the globe.

“Art and culture are part of Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ heritage as the world’s leading luxury ocean cruise line, which is one of the reasons why this partnership with Sotheby’s is incredibly exciting for us,” said Jason Montague, President & Chief Executive Officer, Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “Many of our guests are art lovers and will appreciate the Must See-See Museum Shows, opening up a new world of culture.”

“We are thrilled that Regent Seven Seas Cruises is a Presenting Partner for this exciting series,” said Anthony Calnek, Worldwide Director of Media Services at Sotheby’s. “By bringing Tim Marlow’s Must-See Museum Shows to a global audience, Regent Seven Seas Cruises is once again demonstrating their deep commitment to art and culture, which is as important a part of the company’s corporate culture as it is an intrinsic element of the guest experience on board their art-filled fleet.”

Frank J. Del Rio, President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd, owner of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, is a passionate art collector. Del Rio has personally curated the art on several ships in Regent’s luxury fleet, including Seven Seas Explorer®, the most luxurious ship ever built, which was launched in July 2016.

Costing $450m, the 750-guest all-suite, all-balcony ship is one of the most spacious at sea and her art collection, estimated to be worth $6 million, features stunning works from Picasso and Chagall as well as paintings by Eduardo Arranz-Bravo, one of Spain’s finest living artists, amongst many others.

In 2020, Regent will launch its fifth ship, Seven Seas SplendorTM, which will sail to some of Europe’s iconic cultural destinations including the Greek Isles, French Rivera and Iberian Peninsula, making it perfect for art, architecture and history enthusiasts. Seven Seas Splendor features the fabulous 4,443 square-foot Regent Suite, complete with an in-suite spa facility, a $200,000 Hastens Vividus bed, a car and driver in every port, and unobstructed 270-degree views over the ship’s bow.
