Starting from October 3, Belavia offers the service of preliminary choice of seat in the cabin on the airline’s website www.belavia.by during or after buying a ticket. This service is currently available in test mode for the following regular destinations: Almaty, Nur-Sultan, Ashgabat, Baku, Barcelona, Batumi, Yerevan, Geneva, Larnaca, London, Paris, Tbilisi.
“The seat preselection service, which is used by most foreign airlines, will allow passengers to pre-book seats with an extra distance between seat rows (for example, rows near emergency exits and first rows of economy class), which were not previously available for online booking. This is a new service, which will be provided in addition to the existing possibility of free seat choice in the process of online check-in on the airline’s website.
At the moment the service is launched in the test mode, but soon our passengers will be able to choose seats on all flights of the airline. We hope that for those who prefer to choose the seat in the cabin theirselves, the new service will be a really nice addition to the journey organization”, said Anatoly Gusarov, Director General of Belavia-Belarusian Airlines.
The cost of the additional service varies from 5 to 30 euros depending on the location of a seat in the cabin. For Belavia Leader Gold members and business class passengers the service is free. In case of technical impossibility to provide a seat of the paid category, the airline will refund the full cost of the service. More information one can find on the airline’s website.
Please note that the service will be active up to 24 hours before the flight departure. After the indicated time, all seats, except emergency exit row seats and 1st row seats of the economy class, become available for check-in for free. For these places, the opportunity to use the service remains up to 3 hours before the flight departure. Unsold seats of the specified categories will be available for check-in at the counter at the airport for free.
Belavia Belarusian Airlines implements new additional services in cooperation with Sabre Corporation, a leading technology provider for the global tourism and travel industry. The new service for the preliminary selection of seats was introduced as part of the implementation of plans for a gradual transition to tariff brands that will allow to offer passengers lower fare levels due to the different set of services provided.
