Six Senses Appoints Manish Puri as General Manager of Six Senses Shaharut in Israel

Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas has tapped Manish Puri as the general manager for its upcoming property, Six Senses Shaharut, Israel, scheduled to open in early 2020.

Manish joins Six Senses Shaharut following a stint as general manager of Six Senses Uluwatu, Bali. He began his Six Senses career as general manager of Evason Ma’In Hot Springs and Six Senses Spa in Jordan before serving five years with the multi-award winning Six Senses Yao Noi in Thailand, followed by Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain in China.

With more than 25 years in the hospitality industry and an 11-year veteran with Six Senses, Manish graduated from the prestigious Oberoi School of Hotel Management and completed the Oxford Advanced Management and Leadership program with the University of Oxford. Besides completing the Cornell University Professional Development Program with an Advanced Certification in Real Estate and Hotel Investment, he had also successfully completed the General Manager’s Program. Manish is also a certified wine sommelier by the International Wine Guild of America.

Manish says, “Six Senses Shaharut marks a new milestone for Six Senses as the brand enters yet another unique destination. I am very excited for this new opening which will bring the Six Senses ethos of sustainability, local sensitivity and wellness together with the desert culture and traditions. With a passionate opening team, we’ll work to create out-of-the-ordinary guest experiences in a setting of biblical proportions.”

Six Senses Shaharut is set to the south of the Negev Desert in the Arava Valley and features just 58 suites and villas with one Retreat Villa. Designed to integrate into the desert topography and preserve the natural terrain, the villas are built from, and inspired by, local rock and pigments, with the landscaping featuring cacti and indigenous desert blooms. The Six Senses Spa Shaharut includes single and double treatment rooms plus male and female steam, sauna and hammams. On-site attractions include the fascinating Earth Lab, camel stables and an open-air amphitheater. The desert setting presents a host of activities from overnight camel camping to extreme sports, hiking, jeep safaris and wine tours.
