Oleg Belozerov, Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Russian Railways, and Ashraf Raslan, Managing Director of Egyptian National Railways, have held a working meeting.
The meeting took place at the International Railway Salon of the Space 1520 PRO//MOVEMENT. EXPO, which opened on 28 August 2019 in Shcherbinka in Greater Moscow.
During their meeting, the heads of the two companies agreed that favourable conditions exist at the moment for the establishment of close cooperation between Russia and Egypt in the field of railway transport.
Oleg Belozerov, in particular, noted that the Russian Railways Holding was interested in participating in the modernisation of Egyptian railways.
“Our Company is committed to an effective partnership. We are ready to offer the Egyptian side progressive developments and technologies and implement them when carrying out projects in Egypt,” said the head of Russian Railways.
Oleg Belozerov also noted that today the Russian Railways Holding offers a full cycle of competencies for the implementation of complex infrastructure projects – from cost-benefit analyses to the development of design solutions, engineering and construction.
Ashraf Raslan also expressed the readiness of Egyptian Railways to cooperate with the Russian Railways holding and noted that Egypt had major plans for the development of the country’s railway network.
