The German-Turkish holiday airline SunExpress now flies once a week to Dalaman by the Turkish Aegean Sea. Ankara will also be added as a new destination on 6 July – fly to the Turkish capital once a week, on Saturdays. As in previous years, the number of flights to the two popular holiday destinations Antalya and Izmir will increase significantly from July onwards, with take-off from Berlin to both destinations up to twice a day.
In the summer months of July and August, the airline flies again to Venice, Italy. Fly to the Floating City on Sundays from Tegel starting 7 July.
Dalaman
Azure blue sea, miles of sandy beaches and secluded bays – the holiday destination on the Aegean Sea in the Mediterranean offers perfect conditions for sun-seekers. In addition to the wide range of water sports and good tourist infrastructure, Dalaman has a picturesque countryside with quiet mountain villages and beautiful hiking trails through the Taurus Mountains. Also recommended are day trips to the gorgeous Ölüdeniz Bay, Butterfly Valley in Fethiye and to the sailing paradise Gökova Bay.
Ankara
It does not always have to be Istanbul: Ankara, the political centre and capital of Turkey, has much to offer. Firstly, there is the famous Anitkabir mausoleum, which is the burial site of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic. Then in the Museum of Anatolian Civilisations, you can trace the history of Anatolia all the way back to the Paleolithic era and view archaeological finds from 40,000 years ago. From Ankara’s castle, you have the best view of the five-million metropolis, which from here looks surprisingly green and calm.
SunExpress Bonus
In 2018, the airline introduced a new bonus programme that is particularly rewarding for families and couples. For each flight booking, participants collect both flight and bonus points – and if you fly ten times with SunExpress, you will receive a free flight. The bonus programme also offers a family account option that allows multiple family members to earn points in a shared account. Collected points can be used for add-ons such as seat reservations and additional luggage.
