Silversea Cruises Upgrates Entertainment Options

Silversea Cruises upgrades in-suite television programming across its fleet of intimate ships. In effect since January 1, 2019, the National Geographic and Sport 24 channels now enrich the impressive line-up of viewing options, which includes reputable international networks, such as BBC World News and Fox News, among others, plus the latest movies. As part of the enhancement, guests will now be able to watch live football and basketball fixtures, among other significant broadcasts.

Building on Silversea’s deep travel offering, National Geographic is enhancing guests’ cruise experiences with fascinating series and documentaries on travel and science. Screened aboard all Silversea ships, which unlock the authentic beauty of over 900 of the world’s most remarkable destinations for guests, the National Geographic program mix includes content that offers guests a deep understanding of the amazing people, cultures and destinations they may be visiting on their cruise, depending on the itinerary.

And now with the Sport 24 channel, Silversea guests are able to watch many of their favorite sports competitions while sailing to far-off lands. Owned and produced by IMG, a global leader in sports, events and media, the Sport 24 channel delivers the drama and excitement of live sporting action from around the world, including such professional associations and events as the National Hockey League, National Basketball Association, Premier League, Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Rugby World Cup, Grand Slam tennis tournaments, golf’s major championships, and more.

Now enhanced as part of the cruise line’s ongoing Invictus Project—a long-term plan to grow and improve Silversea’s already luxurious fleet of ships—Silversea’s in-suite entertainment offering is among the best at sea. Guests enjoy up to 100 blockbuster movies, including approximately 20 new releases each month; 90 hours of destination and documentary content, tailored according to the sailed destination; and an additional 150 hours of television shows.

“As part of our ongoing Project Invictus product upgrade initiative, we are delighted to enhance the in-suite experience for our guests with a broader range of television channels, delivering high-quality entertainment programming 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” says Barbara Muckermann, Silversea’s Chief Marketing Officer. “This latest enhancement reflects our commitment to making our guests feel totally at home in the farthest corners of the world.”

Each Silversea ship features spacious, all-suite, ocean-view accommodations, enriched by the attentive service of butlers. Suites are outfitted with elegant furnishings, at least one state-of-the-art flat-screen television with interactive media library, luxurious bed linens, plush bathrobes and slippers, and a host of all-inclusive touches, including a bar stocked with guests’ preferences, an in-suite dining service, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
