Crystal Cruises to Sail Rare Itinerary

Crystal Cruises’ luxury yacht, Crystal Endeavor, will travel a route that has captivated travelers for centuries. Crystal Endeavor embarks from Anadyr, Russia for Tromsø, Norway on August 18, 2021. On the 28-night expedition, the Crystal Cruises’ yacht will visit some of the world’s most remote islands and archipelagos, including Ayon Island and Medvezhiy Islands.

The voyage departs August 18, 2021, and will visit places that are only hardly occupied since polar explorer Nils A.E. Nordenskjöld first successfully made the passage in 1878-79.

Highlighted destinations include:
  • UNESCO World Heritage Site Wrangel Island
  • Franz Josef Land
  • The New Siberian Islands
  • Severnaya Zemlya
  • Cape Chelyuskin on the Taimyr Peninsula

The voyage will also visit Murmansk and number of Russian Federation ports including Novaya Zemlya and Solovetsky Island. En route, Crystal Endeavor will sail the East Siberian Sea and the White Sea, the Barents Sea, and the Laptev Sea. There will also be numerous opportunities for zodiac landings and navigation of ice floes. However, stops and shoreside access and activities will be largely dependent on weather and sea conditions.

Guests on the Northeast Passage journey will enjoy 1-night pre-cruise hotel accommodations in Anchorage and a flight transfer to Anadyr. The itinerary will first open for booking for Crystal Society members on February 20, 2019, but will be available for booking to the public on March 13, 2019. Crystal Society fares start from $44,362 per guest.

The itineraries for Crystal Endeavor’s inaugural season sail from August of 2020 through January 2021, with voyages of 12 to 22 days. The ship’s maiden voyage on August 10, 2020, from Tokyo will be a round-trip 17-night Russian Far East Expedition.

At all times itineraries are subject to the Captain’s discretion based on prevailing weather and ice conditions and government permits. Therefore, wildlife sightings and wilderness highlights on any itinerary cannot be guaranteed.

The 20,000-GRT vessel will accommodate 200 guests with elegantly casual, expansive public spaces. Crystal Endeavor offers all-suite, butler-serviced guest rooms, Michelin-inspired dining options, and state-of-the-art Fitness Center. The ship is built at MV WERFTEN Shipyard in Stralsund, Germany.

Crystal Cruises became the first luxury cruise ship to transit the famed Northwest Passage in 2016 and then again in 2017.
