The airline proactively cancelled 150 Delta Connection regional flights for Sunday and Monday ahead of two winter systems moving through the region.
Delta has extended a weather waiver for six airports in the Pacific Northwest, including Delta’s hub in Seattle, in anticipation of two additional winter storm systems sweeping the region on Sunday, Feb. 10 through the evening of Monday, Feb. 11.
The airline proactively cancelled 40 Delta Connection regional flights for Sunday afternoon and 110 scheduled for Monday, with the potential for additional schedule adjustments likely as teams in Delta’s Operation and Customer Center evaluate the latest weather model data.
Sunday’s system will bring light snowfall to the area around 3 p.m. local time through the overnight with an inch of accumulation. Frozen precipitation will continue through Monday, with periods of heavy snowfall expected in the afternoon hours and snowfall totals of approximately three to five inches for the area on Monday.
Delta’s updated waiver allows customers traveling to, from or through the affected cities on from Feb. 8 through 11, to make a one-time change to their travel plans without incurring a fee.
Earlier in the weekend, airline cancelled 57 Delta Connection flights Saturday as a result of inclement weather.
