From today, it is very easy for KLM passengers using Messenger to see if their hand baggage has the right dimensions. KLM uses Augmented Reality (AR) for this new service.
The service is now widely available for iPhone users (6s or higher) in KLM’s Messenger. The AR hand baggage check uses a transparent, virtual KLM suitcase that can be placed over a real suitcase. This way you can immediately see whether the baggage fits in size in the luggage boxes on board. Passenger can easily check in their home environment whether the hand baggage complies with the standards. Earlier this month the hand luggage check was already launched in the KLM app (iOS).
“With the AR hand baggage check in Messenger, KLM takes another step in its digital services. Passengers now see at a glance whether their hand luggage has the right dimensions. This service in Messenger is available for every KLM passenger: at the airport, on the road and at home. We continue to pioneer innovation in the interests of our passengers, ” said Pieter Groeneveld, Senior Vice President of Digital Air France – KLM.
